In Philippians 2:13 it says, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” So, If God is working in YOU to fulfill his purpose then how do you see HIM doing it? In other words, what is God’s will for your life and how is He fulfilling His purposes through you?
God’s Will for Your Life

I am currently a student of theology and eschatology. I believe that God has more than one purpose for me. I believe that He will use me and my education to debunk new age beliefs and to show what his plan for Christian living is as written in the Bible. I also believe He is using me right now to speak out and debunk the belief that Christians should have no voice in the political arena. I believe when the Bible says that we not be involved in politics it meant that we should not be politicians and apostles because one cannot serve 2 masters. Some “Christians” took that too far and stopped voting and being involved. This has helped the liberal agenda lead in our current political system and it is past time for Christians to again assert ourselves to our political leaders through speaking up and voting for Godly values.
I believe that it is the duty of christians to be very much involved in politics as candidates, grassroots activtists and/or financial contributors. We must act to reform government to eliminate wrongs our government commits such as to allow abortions, same sex marriages/unions, overtax, overregulate, violate the US constitution (most of what the US government does is unconstitutional), take money out of our economy instead of allowing free market solutions through decisions of private citizens/groups. This does not mean that I support government run by big money contributors and/or big media and career politicians contrary to the will of God. We should all be salt and light to the world. In a democratic republic, citizens are (or at least should be) the government. The bible says that Governments are instituted by God. But God allows them to mismanaged by the devil if christian citizens are not actively and conscientiously involved. One need not be (indeed should not be) a slave to the devil by being actively involved in government. The chief skill of some politicians is to lie and compromise their christian convictions. There sometimes is a place for compromise but many things are just not negotiable. Bad polititions make promises to seek votes to gain personal power and perpetuity in office contrary to the true good of the people and God’s will. Churches, pastors as well as individual church members must be activists to reform our government and current culture. I think this is biblical. Not to do so is to resign from our responsibilities – just what the devil wants. An army of committed, active, well organized christians can overcome the power of big money and big media in politics.
@Herbert well done and well said. Thank you for doing such a fantastic job on elaborating my point. I believe that more now than ever we as Christians must be politically vocal. Actually I personally don’t see how we can’t be at a time like this because the works and minions of Satan are running rampant and we must speak up. You are right. Lack of involvement is just what Sa Tan wants. I hope to see more posts from you. Be Blessed and Yahweh keep you.
No need to wonder or guess at His purpose, it’s the same for each of His own. . . “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son. . .” Rom. 8. His Spirit makes Christ known to us and gives comfort in doing so, and it is His work here to guide us, that we become like Jesus as we deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow. He is fulfilling that purpose in my life by breaking down those things about myself that I have really trusted to get me thru. . . things I had just deceived myself about. But no matter how hard these times of convicting/learning/growing are, find that the fruit is the plea and cry of the heart is to know Christ more. . . that I want to know Him genuinely, in the depths. Even those times when it seems that God is thru with me and I’ve made total shipwreck of faith due to my willful deliberate sin and that there’s no point anymore in going on with Him. . . I’ve learned that those thoughts are just a deception as well, that God never gives up on His own. A verse that has meant life during those times is, “He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God thru Christ, since He ever lives to intercede for them.” “…saved to the uttermost…” produces so much hope in my heart. And the thought and consideration that Jesus always lives to intercede to get us thru. . . that Jesus is in heaven right now praying for us. . . that in truth our end is that we will be like Him, these things both humble me and revive my soul. The comfort from God always exceeds the hardship. And with the comfort that’s been received thru these times, have been able to share with others and comfort them. What is not worth going thru to be like Jesus?
God’s will for my life is that I live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Titus 2:12 With this focus, I take up each task to which the Holy Spirit directs me. In all that I say and do I am to be a reflection of Christ to all the people I encounter. I am required to run all the facts and circumstances of the people I encounter through the grid work of my understanding of the word of God and I am to treat them with the love and care that Jesus would show them.
GOD’s will for everyone’s life is very simple, just read Deuteronomy 29:29 and Phil. 2:13-16. GOD has the right to do whatever HE desires to do in each of our lives. Our part is to do whatever HE places before us in whatever way HE desires, each of us are to trust GOD and HIS perfect sovereign plan that only HE can know, HIS secret. JESUS CHRIST is the perfect life example of following GOD’s will perfectly and yet Christ was murdered for no humanly justifiable, judicial reason. Each of us must trust GOD likewise for HE is at work in each of us for HIS glory and our ultimate good in HIS perfect plan that cannot be thwarted by ANY POWER or BEING. Maranatha
I feel that God is giving me the opportunity to inform others about the deceitful works of the father of lies. I admit that when I was younger I got into witchcraft. However, God rescued me from it and now I teach Sunday school. Because of my background, I know when the media is pushing a wicked agenda and I can point it out to others. For example, before the song “die young” was banned (thank God!) I played that song to my class and contrasted that to a Christian pop song called “I’m alive”. I asked them to point out the differences between the songs and it was like seeing lightbulbs go off in their heads. My students saw that one song was pushing a very negative message (die young) and the other was sending the right message (I’m alive). They learned to be more aware of the negative messages- that they sometimes appear to be fun and happy but in reality they can ruin your life if you follow them. I’m grateful to God that He is doing such an awesome working in my life!
