Awareness

We offer articles, newsworthy information, and engaging content to raise your awareness of the negative Christian stereotypes perceived by the world. Our goal is to reverse those negative stereotypes by helping transform Christians into more Christ-likeness.

Education starts with awareness. Our research has shown that most Christians don’t know how we are perceived. We often insulate ourselves with like-minded Christians and live in a Christian bubble. However, we can help you quickly see a disturbing trend in our faith. How we treat others and how we are perceived has eternal consequences for many non-believers. Read our discussions and join in the conversation. Check out some of our recommended reading materials and movies that are just a NetFlix download away :-) . Learn what you do and say daily that reinforces the negative stereotypes we are trying to reverse.

More Information:
Jesus Christ enjoys a 95% approval rating world wide, yet his Christian followers are not approved of by many outside our congregations. A quickly growing segment of Christians are embarrassed and ashamed by such “UnChristian” behavior.

Changing the Face of Christianity is leading the charge to reverse this downward spiral. It is time for Christians to stand up and take accountability for how we are treating the world.

Do we do a lot of good? Absolutely…and let’s never forget that. But let us not ignore the pink elephant in our living room either. The pink elephant is our own UnChristian behavior which tarnishes the image of our savior Jesus Christ and repels genuine seekers and non-believers.

We seek to better understand how the world perceives Christians and the church by:

  • Interacting with Non-Christians in honest discussion
  • Seeking to know them and understand them and show love to them
  • Seeking to understand their values and how they think. (attempt to walk in their shoes)
  • By genuinely taking interest in their lives, struggles, goals, and joys in life
  • By respecting and caring for them instead of judging and condemning them

Here are some questions we ask to learn more:

  • Pastors/Christians: what don’t they like about other Christians or the Church?
  • Atheists: how have Christians mistreated them or turned them off to God?
  • Agnostics: do they see Christians as an influence for good or not?
  • Religions/Muslims/Hindus/Buddhists/Jews: do we treat them with respect and dignity for their beliefs and work toward a common good and brotherhood?
  • Gay/Lesbian: How have Christians shown you love and how have we rejected you?
  • Republican/Democrats: How can Christians in different political parties get along and engage politely in politics for the mutual benefit of our faith?
  • Etc…
