A Tale of Two Christians

I want to briefly share a story of two Christians. Similar to the story of the prodigal son, this story is intended to be a parable for us to learn an important lesson about living our faith.  There was once two Christians. One was a man of God. Not a priest or anything, just a normal man that sought after God and his ways daily. He had a friend who was also a Christian. However, this second man was far from God.  The First Man Everyday, the two would go about their work, to earn a … [Read more...]

With all the talk about whether or not presidential candidate Mitt Romney (a Mormon) is also a Christian, I thought it would be good for all of us to get clear on WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN?

Instead of lengthy answers, can anyone boil it down to a bullet list form? What is the litmus test for whether someone is a Christian, be it beliefs, action, or some combination of the two. … [Read more...]

Frequently Asked Questions: An Interview with R. Brad White

What inspired you to start Changing the Face of Christianity Inc? God whispered in my ear several years ago that the face of Christianity needed to change. I felt called, and I have simply answered that call by saying YES to God. Our mission is to reverse negative Christian stereotypes (such as homophobia, intolerance, judgmentalism, hypocrisy, and others) by helping Christians be more like Jesus Christ. God prepared me well for this enormous challenge. I was an atheist for much of my … [Read more...]

Should Christians Boycott Halloween?

Should Christians boycott Halloween? No! Let me explain. I’m sure some of you will disagree…and if so, I’d love to hear your comments. And I hope you don’t mind us taking a lighthearted look at this annual Halloween tradition. But, my arguments rest on the real Biblical questions: Is participating in or celebrating Halloween, in any way serving, honoring, glorifying, or holding up as an idol, a false God? Are we participating in a pagan ritual that dishonors God? My answer is … [Read more...]

Dan Kimball on Homophobia Within Our Churches

I just finished reading a book by pastor and author Dan Kimball titled "They Like Jesus But Not the Church". It's an incredibly well written book. It covers many subjects related to our emerging culture and how non-Christians view the church. His main theme is that many of these outsiders love Jesus, who he was, what he stood for, and what he taught, but just as passionately oppose and are repelled by the church. We aren't doing very well applying the teaching of Jesus and expressing His … [Read more...]

Forgive…and Forgive again

Being Like Jesus Christ

Luke 17:3-4. "Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him, and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” The message: don't hold grudges. Forgive quickly. For our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, rebuke if one of us sins, but be ready to forgive if they show a true repentant heart. And even if they don't, forgive them anyway. … [Read more...]

How Can You Change the Face of Christianity Today?

With recent events like the Oslo "Fundamentalist Christian Terrorist" bombing (as it's being referred to in the mainstream media), how can you and I positively change the face of Christianity today? We can't keep crazy people from doing crazy things, but you and I CAN and MUST positively influence those around us. If for no other reason, then for when people like Anders Behring Breivik do crazy things in the name of Christ, people we know will say "That's not the Christianity I know". So, how … [Read more...]
